Thank you to everyone who has already made contributions for the fete. Preparations are well underway and as always, hopes are high for an enjoyable sunny day!
It is not too late to donate items for Saturday 12th May.
The church is open daily, 9.00am-4.00pm to receive books, tins, cans, jars, bottles of wine, tins of biscuits, chocolates, CDs, DVDs, games, toys and toiletries, together with donations for Bargain Hunt.
Please ensure edibles are within ‘use by’ date.
On Friday 11th, or during the morning of the day of the fete, please bring to the church, cakes for the cake stall and for the refreshments (in church) and also, garden plants, or produce for the plant stall.
For the Summer Fete Grand Draw, please check you have returned all completed stubs / counterfoils and money, together with any unused raffle ticket booklets to the church office before 10.00am on Saturday 12th May.
If making out a cheque, please make it payable to “PCC of Titchfield”.
More raffle tickets will be on sale at the Fete between 1.00 and 3.15pm.
The draw will be taking place at 3.30pm, after the judging of the Children’s Fancy Dress Competition.
Entry for the Fancy Dress is free and open to children of all ages. Registration will take place between 1.00pm and 2.45pm. The parade and competition will take place between 3.00 and 3.30pm.
Admission at the gate is £1.00 for adults and 50p for children. However, for all children wearing a Fancy Dress costume, entry will be free.
Everyone admitted at the gate to the Old Vicarage, will be given an entry programme with the opportunity to win a prize in the Entry Raffle. Don’t forget to give in the completed programme slip for the Entry Raffle, the winner will be drawn after 3.30pm, when the draws for other raffle prizes including ‘family days out’ and sundry ‘special treats’ will take place after the Grand Draw.
You will need your programme to see when Paul McKenna’s Swingworld Band provide entertainment in the front garden and performances by the St Peter’s Puppets, the Primary School Pans Ablaze and the West Hill Park Community Choir take place in the back garden.
Throughout the afternoon, from 12noon to 4.00pm, refreshments will be provided in church. There will be opportunities to listen to the church organ and to ask questions of the Organist.
The gate to the Old Vicarage will open for the Fete at 1.00pm giving access to a wide range of stalls, some familiar, some new and a variety of community organisations. Activities and games include ‘Jolly Jars’, the ‘Coconut Shy’ and ‘Splat the Rat’ as well as the Super Chance and Chocolate Tombolas.
